You can find us at Plot Number 49. It’s a big space filled with rolls of fabric and stuffing. We make toys here. It’s not a very tidy place because there are always bits of thread and fluff floating around in the air. We have a bunch of sewing machines that run for most of the day, making a constant clicking noise. It’s quite loud when everyone is working at once. There are boxes of plastic eyes and noses sitting on the shelves. We don't have a big corporate board or any fancy meetings. We just look at the patterns and try to get the stitching straight. The lunchroom is just a few tables pushed together where we all sit and eat our tiffins. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the morning fixing them instead of making bears or lions. We’ve got stacks of finished toys waiting to be bagged up in the back. It’s a lot of manual work, and our hands usually feel a bit tired by the end of the shift. The lighting isn't the best, but we make it work. We aren't trying to be the biggest factory out there. We just come in, sit at our stations, and do the work that needs doing. It’s a simple life surrounded by stuffed animals and colorful fabric scraps. We don't bother with much else besides getting the orders packed and out the door.
