We operate out of Ludhiana, which is a busy city with a lot of building going on. Tatoowala Constructions isn’t a massive firm with glass offices; we are more about getting the actual work done on-site. People in Ludhiana know that this city moves fast. We spend most of our time out in the dust and the sun rather than sitting behind a desk. It’s a practical life. There is always a new project starting or an old one that needs finishing up. The traffic in Ludhiana can be tough when we’re trying to move materials around, but we find our way. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just construction. If a wall needs building or a floor needs laying, we are the ones doing it. The weather gets really hot here, and then it gets really cold in the winter. We work through most of it. Our tools are usually in the back of a truck, and our boots are usually dirty. That is just how it is when you work in this trade. We know the local streets and the local suppliers well. It’s a community where word of mouth matters more than anything else. We stay busy because there is always something being built in this part of Punjab. It's a grit-and-dirt kind of job, and we're fine with that. We don't mind the long hours as long as the job gets finished properly.
