Reliance Infrastructure

Reliance Infrastructure up here in Gangtok is a bit different from the big city offices. We are located on M.G Marg, right with Dinesh Khator. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty cold in the winter months, so we spend a lot of time huddled near the heaters. Our work involves keeping track of the local projects around Sikkim. The terrain makes everything a bit slower, but we’re used to it. The roads can be tricky after a heavy rain, so our field staff often have stories about getting stuck. Inside the office, it’s mostly just us keeping the paperwork moving and making sure the supplies get where they need to go. We don't have a big receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, whoever is closest to the door gets it. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s a quiet way to work compared to the mainland. We see a lot of tourists walking by outside since we’re on the main road. Sometimes they get lost and pop in to ask for directions, and we help them out. Being part of the infrastructure side means we see the changes in the town first-hand. It’s just a small group of us trying to keep things running smoothly in the hills. We focus on the daily tasks and skip all the corporate talk.
