Radisson, Noida

I work at the Radisson in Noida but my home address is actually way out in Hindalco Colony in Renukoot. That is down in the Sonebhadra district which is a long way from the city life here. At the hotel we are always on our feet moving from the lobby to the back offices. It is a lot of work keeping things tidy and making sure the guests are not waiting too long for their keys. I live at I 373 in the colony when I am back home and it is much more peaceful there than it is in Noida. Here there are cars honking at every hour and the air is always thick with dust from the construction nearby. I have been doing this for a while now and you get used to the long shifts and the late nights. We have a small team and we usually share stories about our hometowns during the dinner break. Some of the guys are from the same area which makes it feel a bit more like home. We don't have a big mission or anything like that we just want to make sure the rooms are clean and the food is hot when it goes out to the tables. It is practical work and it keeps us busy enough that the weeks fly by. I go back to Sonebhadra when I can get a few days off together to see my folks.
