We are based over at L-85 in Shastri Nagar, right in the heart of Meerut. This is our main spot for the Government of Uttar Pradesh work in this district. Shastri Nagar is a well-known area, so most locals know exactly where we are. The building is a standard house that’s been converted into an office space, which gives it a bit of a lived-in feel. It’s not a shiny corporate building with glass walls. Instead, it’s a place where we sit at old wooden desks and work through the daily requirements. We have been here for a good while, and the walls are lined with cupboards full of old records and files. In Meerut, things can get pretty busy, and we often have a line of people waiting outside our door before we even open up. We do our best to get through the paperwork without making too much of a fuss. The team here is small, so we all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. It’s a practical environment. We don't have any fancy coffee machines, just a local tea stall nearby that brings us glasses when we need a break. Most of the day is spent checking documents and making sure things are in order for the higher-ups. It’s honest work, and we just keep the wheels turning for the local administration. Every evening we lock up and head home through the busy Meerut streets, ready to do it again.
