The address is actually in Greater Noida, specifically at C-384 in Gamma-1. It is a residential area, quite different from the busy streets of Bihar. This is where Er. R. N. Lal, who used to be a Chief Engineer, stays along with Dr. K.P. Dutta. The house is a quiet spot on a tree-lined street in District G.B. Nagar. Since this is a retired official’s residence, the atmosphere is very calm and orderly. There are stacks of old records and files kept in the study. Much of the work involves coordinating things from a distance or handling correspondence that comes in from the state office. It isn’t a typical office with a lobby or a receptionist. You walk through a small garden to get to the front door. We spend time responding to letters and keeping track of various government matters that still require attention. The neighborhood is peaceful, mostly families and other retired professionals living nearby. Sometimes visitors come by to discuss old projects or seek advice on technical issues. It is a simple life of paperwork and phone calls. We don't have any fancy equipment, just a basic desk and the usual home office supplies. The day usually follows a slow pace, starting with the morning paper and ending when the mail is sorted. It is just a practical way to keep things moving for the department while based here in UP.
