We are the local office here in Badlapur, situated at Sarvodaya Niwas in the Manjarli area. Our pin code is 421503, just in case you are mailing something. This is where a lot of the local town business gets sorted out. It’s a bit of a cramped space with stacks of paper everywhere and people coming in to pay their bills or ask about property stuff. We’ve got old wooden benches for people to wait on, and they are usually full by ten in the morning. The ceiling fans hum constantly to keep the air moving. It’s a very local atmosphere; we know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. We deal with water issues, road complaints, and all the little things that keep a town like Badlapur running. Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in forms, but we try to get through the pile by the end of the week. The building itself is an old residence that was converted, so it has a bit of a homey, if slightly messy, feel. We don't have a website that works half the time, so people just come down here to talk to us directly. It’s noisy and busy, and there’s always someone complaining about something, but that is just part of working in a municipal office like this one.
