Beekay Lodge

This place, Beekay Lodge, is located right in Sector 49, Noida, over at C-54. Sumit Gupta looks after things here. It’s a straightforward setup where people come to stay when they need a roof over their heads for a bit. We don’t have those massive lobbies with marble floors you see in the big hotels. Instead, we have a simple entrance and a set of keys that have seen better days. The building itself is tucked into the sector, so it feels more like a house than a business sometimes. We spend a lot of time checking the linens and making sure the water is running right in the bathrooms. Noida gets pretty hot, so we’re always fiddling with the fans or checking on the coolers to keep the guests from sweating too much. People come in from all over, some staying for a night and others for a week. We try to keep the hallways clear and the noise down, though the street outside can be busy during the rush hour. It’s a lot of laundry and a lot of talking to people at the door. We don’t put on airs here. It’s just a lodge where people sleep and move on the next morning. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the cleaning, but that’s just how it goes in this kind of place. We mostly just focus on keeping things tidy and making sure everyone who stays here has what they need for the night.
