Vijaya Hospital

Being located opposite the New Bus Stand means we are right in the thick of things. There is a constant sound of engines and people shouting for tickets just across the street from Vijaya Hospital. It makes for a very busy environment. We get a lot of people who are just passing through town and suddenly need to see a doctor. The waiting room often has people with suitcases or bags sitting there while they wait for their turn. It can be a bit overwhelming when three buses arrive at once and the street fills up with people, but we are used to the chaos by now. The floor in the lobby needs mopping several times a day because of all the foot traffic coming in from the bus stand area. Our staff is quick on their feet because they have to be. We do not have much space for a garden or a big entrance, so we just make the most of the building we have. The windows are usually kept shut to keep out the bus fumes, which makes the air conditioning work pretty hard. It is a practical place for people who need help fast. We don't worry about being fancy. We just focus on the patients and making sure the medicine cabinet is stocked. It is a tough location but very necessary for the travelers.
