Saraswati Industries

Saraswati Industries is located at House No 5/6/741/1, right in the heart of Saraswathinagar. We named the place after the area, or maybe it was the other way around, I can’t quite remember now. It’s been a long time since we first opened the doors here. The building is an old one, but it holds up well against the rain. We spend our days cutting, shaping, and putting things together. It’s mostly metal work, but we take on various odd jobs if we have the tools for it. My brother and I run the floor, and we have two helpers who come in from the next village over. We don't use any fancy computer systems to track things; we just write it down in a big ledger by the door. Sometimes the handwriting is hard to read, but we haven't lost an order yet. It's a bit cramped inside because we keep buying more materials than we have room for. You'll usually hear the grinders going if you walk past during the day. We aren't looking to become some giant corporation. We just want to do our work, get paid, and go home to our families. It’s a simple life. The shop is dusty and the tea is usually too sweet, but it’s our place and we’re proud of what we do. We like being part of this neighborhood.
