Saguna Dairy Farm

Our place is in Taglepalli, specifically in the SC Colony area. House 4-54/1 is where we stay and run the dairy from. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the cows and the goats every single day. There isn't really a day off when you have livestock because they need to eat and be milked regardless of what else is happening. Varni Mandal is a quiet place for the most part. We spend our time checking on the animals and making sure they are healthy. My clothes usually smell like the farm, but that’s just part of the job. We aren't doing anything fancy here. It is just a regular dairy farm where we produce milk for the local area. Sometimes the machinery acts up and I have to spend the afternoon trying to fix a pump or a gate. The kids help out when they aren't at school. It’s a family thing, really. We’ve been at this same spot for years now. The cows know the routine just as well as we do. It’s tiring work but it’s what we know. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure the animals are looked after properly. The road out here can get a bit rough when the monsoon hits, but the milk still has to get out. We just keep doing what needs to be done every morning and evening. There is no time for sitting around when there are animals waiting.
