Kiran Store

Kiran Store is a small place located at 9-30-21 in Dharpally. It’s just a neighborhood shop where we sell daily essentials. We have things like rice, lentils, spices, and the usual snacks that kids like. I spend most of my time behind the wooden counter, waiting on neighbors. Dharpally is a place where everyone knows each other, so a lot of my day is just chatting with people who stop by for a loaf of bread or some sugar. The shop is quite small, so we have to use every bit of shelf space. Sometimes it looks a bit cluttered with boxes and bags, but I know where everything is. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit and makes a steady hum, which is the soundtrack to my day. We don’t have any big signs or fancy lighting. It’s just a simple store with a door that stays open from morning until late evening. When the school nearby lets out, the shop gets crowded with children looking for sweets. It can be a bit noisy then, but I don't mind. I’ve lived in this area my whole life, so the store feels like an extension of my home. We don’t do any advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here if they run out of milk or tea. It’s a quiet life, mostly, just keeping the shelves stocked and the floors swept for the next day.
