Khaleelwadi is always a bit busy with people moving around, and our scanning centre is right in the middle of all that noise. We’ve got these machines that run almost all day long, and the sound of the scanners is something you just get used to after a while. Most people come in because they have some old documents that are falling apart or they need something sent quickly for a job application. We don't have fancy chairs or a waiting lounge, just a small space where you can stand and wait while we finish the job. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a bit of a headache, but we just wait it out and start again once it's back. It’s not just about scanning; it’s about making sure the lines are straight and the text is clear enough to read. I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass on the machines because even a little bit of dust can ruin a good scan. My hands are usually busy with paper and buttons from morning until the sun goes down. We see all kinds of people, from students who are in a hurry to older folks who aren't quite sure how the digital stuff works. We try to help them out without making it complicated. It's a simple living, honestly. There’s no big secret to what we do, just showing up every morning and keeping the equipment running for whoever walks through the door. If it gets too crowded, folks just wait outside on the street.
