Sehasta India Foundation

Sehasta India Foundation is up in Bhattakuffar. We are based in Chauhan Niwas, which is near the Jawala Mata Temple road. It’s a fairly quiet part of Sanjauli, sitting right close to Sanjayvan. The forest is right there, so it’s peaceful and the air is good. We work from the house mostly. It’s a family-run kind of thing, though we have a few friends who come by to help. We chose this spot because it’s away from the main Shimla crowd and the noise. We focus on things that matter to the people living on these steep hillsides. Sometimes it’s hard to get things done when the heavy snow falls in January. We just hunker down and wait for the roads to clear. Our office is basically a room with some old desks and a lot of paper files. We don't really have a big sign outside. The temple road is a good landmark for anyone trying to find us. Most people come to us by word of mouth from their cousins or neighbors. We don't use corporate talk because we aren't a big corporation. We are just a foundation trying to do some good work. We deal with whatever local issues pop up from day to day. It could be anything from school help to water issues. We don't have a set schedule. If there is work, we do it until it's finished.
