Gyanprakash Foundation

Being up on the 19th floor of the Nirmal Building gives us a pretty good view of Nariman Point. It’s a busy area, lots of people rushing around Rajani Patel Marg every single day. We’ve been based here at Plot-241/242 for a bit, and while it’s a professional address, inside our office, things are pretty relaxed. We aren't the type to wear suits unless there's a really big reason for it. Mostly, it’s just us sitting around desks, working through stacks of files. Gyanprakash Foundation is basically run by people who grew up around here or have worked in the city for decades. We know the rhythm of the streets below. Sometimes the wind gets really loud against the windows during the monsoon, which is a bit distracting, but we manage. We don’t have a receptionist or anything fancy; if the phone rings, whoever is closest picks it up. It keeps things direct. We spend a lot of time on the computer, but we still keep a lot of physical ledgers too. Old habits die hard, I guess. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure things are moving in the right direction. Lunch is usually someone bringing in a dabba or grabbing something quick from the stalls downstairs. We’ve found that being in this part of town helps us stay connected to everything happening in the city. It’s a practical setup for the work we do. We like being in the middle of it all.
