Mp. Memorial P/M School

Up here in Ooty, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Our school is over on Nbis Street near the Race Course Road. It’s an old building but it has character. Every morning you see the kids walking up the hill in their sweaters because it gets quite chilly here even when the sun is out. We have a small playground where they run around during the break. Most of our staff have been with us for years now. We have a few classrooms with wooden benches that have seen many students come and go. It’s not a huge campus with glass walls, just a regular place where learning happens every day. We spend a lot of time on basic stuff like reading and writing. Sometimes the monkeys come near the windows and the kids get distracted, which is just part of living in the hills. We keep the registers updated and make sure the bells ring on time. The parents come by in the afternoons to pick up their little ones and we often chat about the weather or local news. It’s a quiet life mostly. We don't have fancy tech in every corner, just some blackboards and chalk and the sound of children reciting their lessons. It feels like a big family more than a workplace most days.
