Mohammed Awad Tea

Started at 7896 in the Thulunad Shopping Complex quite some time back. It's on Kpr Rao Road here in Thayalangadi. Most days it’s just us moving chests of tea around and making sure everything is where it should be. The shopping complex gets pretty busy around noon so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we keep the stock. Sometimes the light in the back flickers but we haven't got around to fixing it yet. People know us by the sign outside, though the paint is peeling a bit now. We deal with all kinds of tea leaves and usually have a few different bags open for people to look at. Living and working in Thayalangadi means you know most of the faces passing by. The Kpr Rao Road traffic can be a nightmare in the evenings but that’s just how it is around here. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. Sometimes we sit on the stools outside when it's quiet and just watch the street. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is hot and the humidity kicks in inside the complex. We just keep at it day by day, making sure the orders are ready for whoever comes in. No big speeches, just tea and the usual daily chores.
