Life Rescue Foundation

Life Rescue Foundation started because we saw things in Nilambur that needed fixing. Ahammed A lets us use his place as a base. It isn't fancy. We spend a lot of time just talking to people who find themselves in a tough spot. Sometimes the rain here gets really bad and that keeps us busy. We don't have a huge team, just a few of us who know the roads around here. Most days involve someone calling and asking if we can help with a medical trip or something simple like that. We try to keep things quiet and just do the work. It’s not about being famous in the neighborhood. We grew up here, so we know the shortcuts and the families. Nilambur is a good place but when trouble hits, you need someone to call. That’s why we’re around. We have a desk and some chairs at the address, and that’s basically it. People stop by when they see the light on. It’s better that way, without all the formal stuff you see in big cities. We just want to make sure the folks living near us don't feel like they're on their own. It’s basic work, really. Nothing too complicated, just showing up when we said we would and seeing what needs doing right then and there. We usually have some tea on the go and the door is mostly unlocked during the day.
