VVa Design Studio

VVa Design Studio is tucked away in Dilshad Garden, specifically in the MIG Flats at Block R 60-C. It’s a residential block, so it’s got that lived-in feel which we actually like. We’ve set up our studio here because it’s easy and it’s where we feel comfortable. There isn't a big sign outside or anything like that. We just have our space where we sit and work on designs. It’s often a bit cluttered with sketches and color swatches. We don't really do the whole corporate image thing. We’re just a few people who like designing things and we happen to do it from here. Dilshad Garden is a big area, but our little corner is usually pretty quiet. We spend a lot of time on our computers, but we also do a lot of talking through ideas over tea. It’s not a high-stress environment, though we do have our busy weeks like everyone else. Sometimes the neighbor’s kids are playing outside and it gets a bit noisy, but that’s just part of being in the flats. We aren't a huge firm with dozens of employees. It’s just us, focusing on the work we have in front of us. We like the personal feel of being in a neighborhood rather than a cold office building. It makes the work feel more real and connected to actual people. It’s a simple setup but it works for what we need to get done.
