The office for Vv Handicrafts Exim Private Limited is out in Rangpuri Pahari, near Malikpur. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, away from the main city center. We’re located at 4-A, and the area feels a bit more rugged compared to the shiny parts of South West Delhi. There’s often dust in the air because of the local construction and the hills nearby. Inside, we have a lot of different handicraft items stored on big metal racks. It’s not a fancy showroom; it’s more of a functional space where we pack things up and get them ready for shipping. You can hear the planes taking off from the airport since we’re quite close to the runways. It’s a sound we’ve all gotten used to over the years. We have a small group of staff who handle the packing and the paperwork. The work is mostly manual, checking each piece to make sure it’s okay before it goes into a box. We use a lot of bubble wrap and tape, so that’s usually the main sound you hear in the afternoon. It gets really hot in this part of town during May and June, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure the export orders are handled properly and sent off on time. It’s just how we run things in this workshop.
