V.K. Industries (India)

Anand Parbat is a noisy place, and V.K. Industries is right in the middle of it on Gali No.10. Our address is PP-7, and if you’ve ever walked down these narrow lanes, you know it’s a maze of workshops and small factories. We’ve been here in this industrial area for quite some time. The machines start humming pretty early in the morning and they don't really stop until late evening. It’s mostly metal work and manufacturing bits and pieces that go into bigger things. The walls are a bit stained from the oil and the floor is concrete, which gets cold in the winters. We don't have a big reception area or a receptionist. Usually, if someone comes by, they just walk into the main floor and shout over the noise to get our attention. Working here means getting your hands dirty every single day. We spend a lot of time measuring things and making sure the cuts are right. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. Most of the guys here have been with us for years, so we’re more like a small family than a corporation. We deal with a lot of local suppliers and sometimes things get delayed, but we just keep pushing through. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. The narrow street outside is always blocked by some truck loading or unloading, but that’s just part of life in Anand Parbat.
