The Leprosy Mission Hospital

We’ve been here at CNI Bhavan on 16 Pandit Pant Marg for quite a long time now. Most people around here know where we are, right in the middle of things. It’s a busy spot, and the building has seen better days, but it does the job. Every morning, the staff arrives and we start setting things up for the patients who travel from quite far away. Dealing with leprosy isn't always easy, and it takes a lot of patience from everyone involved. We spend most of our time just checking wounds and making sure the medications are being taken correctly. Sometimes the waiting room gets a bit crowded and the fans aren't enough to keep it cool, but we manage. There isn't much fancy equipment around here, just the basics that we need to help people get back on their feet. Some of us have worked here for years and we’ve seen families grow up. It’s just how things go. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. People just find us through word of mouth or because their local doctor told them to come to Pandit Pant Marg. The floors get scuffed up by the end of the day, and we spend a good amount of time just tidying up the files. It’s a lot of paperwork, honestly. But when the sun goes down, we close up the doors and get ready to do the same thing tomorrow.
