We are based out of Chalti Sadan in Samalkha, specifically at 10/8-9. It’s right near the Kapashera Border in Delhi, so you can imagine how much noise and dust there is with all the trucks passing by. Tci Supply Chain Solutions (A Transport Corporation Of India Ltd is our name on the sign, but here on the ground, it’s just us handling the day-to-day stuff. The border is always packed, and sometimes it takes ages just to get into the yard. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a practical place to keep the logs and talk to the drivers. We deal with a lot of different loads every day. The weather in Delhi can be pretty rough, either freezing in the winter or really dusty in the summer, but we just get on with it. There’s a lot of shouting and horns honking outside, so it’s never really quiet here. We spend our time making sure the schedules are mostly right and the drivers know where they are going. It is a lot of back-and-forth communication. Some of us have been working here for years and we know all the local shortcuts, though they don't always help when the traffic is backed up. We just keep the files in order and try to stay on top of the work as it comes in. That is how we spend our days.
