Taneja Motors

Naraina Industrial Area Phase II is a noisy place, and we are right in the middle of it at B 73. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal or engines revving up nearby in the other units. Our floors are usually stained with oil and grease, no matter how much we try to scrub them down at the end of the week. We deal with motors and vehicles all day long. Taneja Motors has been at this spot for quite a few years now. It’s not a showroom where everything is shiny and clean. It’s a workshop where things get fixed and people get their hands dirty. We have tools hanging on the walls and spare parts piled up in the corners. The air smells like oil and exhaust fumes most of the time. When a car comes in, we just take a look and see what needs doing. Some days are slower than others, but usually, there’s a backlog of work to get through before we can go home. The street outside is always blocked with trucks and delivery vans. It makes getting in and out a bit of a struggle sometimes. We mostly just keep our heads down and work on whatever engine is in front of us. Lunch is usually eaten quickly at the back of the shop near the tool chest. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that.
