Swami Dayanand Hospital (M.C.D)

This hospital in Shahdara has been around for quite a long time. Being part of the local administration system means we see a massive volume of people every single day. It is never quiet here. Even late at night, there is usually someone in the hallways or waiting by the entrance. The building is a bit old-fashioned. It has those high ceilings and heavy doors. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or a lightbulb stays out for a day too long. We do what we can with what we have. It is a very busy environment. Doctors and nurses are always rushing from one room to another. You see a lot of tired faces, both from the staff and the families waiting for news. We don't have a fancy cafeteria, just basic facilities for those who are here. People come here from all over the Shahdara area because it is a place they know. We don't do much in terms of advertising. We don't need to. The waiting rooms are always full anyway. Dealing with all the files and records takes a lot of effort from the clerks. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when it is really crowded. But the staff here is used to the pressure. We just keep the doors open and take in the people who need us. It is a steady, noisy, and very real kind of place to work.
