Surender Ahuja & Co is located in the middle of Paharganj, specifically Gali No-7 in Chuna Mandi. If you know the area, you know how crowded and narrow the lanes can get. Our office is in house number 2708. It is an old building with steep stairs that have been worn down over the years. We have been sitting in this same spot for quite a long time. The room is filled with cupboards full of old files and stacks of paperwork that seem to grow every week. It is a simple place with a few ceiling fans that click as they spin. We deal with various business matters and local trade. People from the neighborhood often drop in just to say hello or ask a quick question. There is always a pot of tea being shared. We don't have those modern glass partitions or air conditioning that stays on all day. We keep the windows open when it's not too dusty outside. It is a very traditional way of doing things. We handle our records manually for the most part, writing things down in big registers. The atmosphere is quiet compared to the chaos of the main market outside. We prefer it that way. It is just a regular office where we handle our daily tasks without any fuss or complicated systems. No one here wears a suit, we just come in and get on with it.
