Working in Okhla is always a bit of a challenge with the traffic and the noise, but we’ve been at F-46 for a long time now. It’s a busy spot in Phase-I where there’s always something moving around the corner. Inside the shop, you mostly hear the sound of the machines and people trying to get their orders finished. We spend a good chunk of our days looking at green boards and all those small parts that have to go on them perfectly. It gets quite hot in the summer months, especially near the back where the ventilation isn’t great, but the fans keep us going. Most of us have been working here for years, so everyone knows where the tools are kept without even looking. Sometimes the power flickers, and everything just stops for a second, which is annoying, but that’s just life in this area. We handle all the assembly and the soldering work ourselves on these benches. It’s definitely not a fancy office with big glass windows or nice carpets. It’s just a practical workspace with workbenches, some old chairs, and boxes piled up near the door waiting for the courier guy. He’s usually late because of the traffic jam near the main road. While we wait, we drink tea from the stall nearby. We get the components, we put them together, and we try to make sure nothing leaves the building with a mistake. Most of us live close by anyway. It's a long walk to the bus stop otherwise.
