Sumit Confectionery

Sumit Confectionery is tucked away at W-Z-422 in Salahpur, Raj Nagar. It is a small shop filled with snacks, sweets, and all those little things kids like to buy after school. We have glass jars on the counter and packets hanging from the ceiling. It is not a big supermarket, just a local corner shop where you can grab a quick bite or some sugar for your tea. The area around us is mostly residential, so we get to know the families living nearby. Sometimes the kids come in with just a few coins, and we help them pick out something small. It's a bit dusty sometimes because of the road outside, but we try to keep the counters wiped down. We don't have a staff of twenty people, usually it is just one or two of us behind the counter. We open up in the morning and stay open until the evening lights come on in the street. It’s a quiet kind of business. We don't spend money on fancy decorations. The shelves are wooden and have been there for years. People come in for a chat as much as they do for the biscuits. It’s a simple way to make a living. We like being part of Raj Nagar and seeing the same people every day. It’s just how we do things here. We have been here for a good while and hope to stay for much longer as the neighborhood changes.
