You can find us on the ground floor of the Star City Mall in Mayur Vihar, at shop G-46. Working in a mall is a bit strange because you don't really know what time of day it is since the lights are always the same. We deal with Omax watches, mostly just handling the sales and fixing straps or changing batteries for people who walk in. It’s a small shop but we’ve managed to fit a lot of inventory into the glass cases. The floors are polished by the mall staff every night, so it looks cleaner than our workshops ever did. We get a lot of foot traffic on the weekends when families come out for a movie or dinner. During the weekdays, it’s much quieter and we spend time cleaning the glass and checking the stock levels. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just stand behind the counter and help whoever comes in looking for a gift or a replacement watch. The air conditioning is always on, which is a relief during the Delhi summers. We’ve been in this mall for a while now and we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It’s a steady pace of work. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just making sure people have a working watch on their wrist when they leave.
