S.N. Nandy & Co.

S.N. Nandy & Co. is based up on the 8th Floor of Devika Tower-6. This is right in the middle of Nehru Place, which everyone knows is a really crowded and fast-paced place to work. Being on the 8th floor gives us a bit of a view, but mostly we just see the other buildings and the tops of the trees. The elevators in this building can be a real headache, especially during the lunch hour or when everyone is trying to leave at five. We’ve spent a lot of time waiting for those doors to open. Our office is a mix of old desks and piles of files that we keep meaning to organize better. It’s not one of those modern glass offices you see in magazines; it’s a working space with calendars on the walls and pens that sometimes don't work. We have a small pantry where we make tea, and that’s usually where we end up chatting about the news or what’s happening in the market. Nehru Place has everything you could need, but the noise from the street carries up even this high. We’ve been in this tower for quite a while now, so we know all the security guards and the guys who deliver the mail. It’s a busy life in a busy building, and we just keep our heads down and get through the paperwork every day.
