The air here is always sharp and makes you sneeze if you aren't used to it. We deal with big burlap sacks and heavy loads every single day. The building is old, with thick walls and narrow doorways that make it hard to move big piles of goods. We don't have fancy office chairs, just some old stools and a heavy wooden desk where we keep the books. Everything is done by hand, from weighing the bags to writing out the receipts. It’s a dusty place and your clothes always smell like the market at the end of the day. We don't have a lobby for visitors. If you come by, you’re usually there to talk business over a glass of water. The loaders are always shouting outside, and the bells of the rickshaws never stop ringing. It’s a busy, tiring place to work, but it’s been the same for a long time. We don't try to change how things are done because the old ways still work for us here.
