Working here at 1111/1 in Bara Bazar is an experience every single day. Kashmere Gate is probably one of the most crowded places you could find yourself in, especially if you’re looking for auto parts. Shiv Auto Agencies has been sitting in this spot for a long time. The building is old, and the stairs are narrow, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. You walk in and you see rows of shelves filled with boxes that have been sitting there for a week or maybe a year. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just us, some chairs, and a lot of metal components. The morning starts with opening the shutters and sweeping the front bit of the shop. Then the phone starts ringing. It might be someone from out of town asking for a specific registration part or a local mechanic looking for a deal. We spend a lot of time on our feet. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall because there's always someone coming in. It gets hot in the summer and the fans just move the warm air around, but nobody really complains. We know most of the faces that pass by the shop every day. It feels like a small village inside a giant city. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in. Most days are long but we’re used to it by now.
