Sheela Auto Industries

Down here in Kashmere Gate, things are always moving. Sheela Auto Industries is tucked away at 510/18, near Katra Bihari Lal Ganda in Nala Bazar. It’s a busy spot, lots of noise and people pushing carts. We deal with auto parts mostly. It’s what we know. My father started things off and now we just keep it going. The shop isn't big. Parts are stacked up to the ceiling because space is tight in this part of town. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in looking for something specific for their vehicles. It’s dusty work. Kashmere Gate has changed a lot over the years, but the bazaar feeling stays the same. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside for a bit. It’s not a corporate office, just a place where things get sold and moved. We try to keep things organized but with so many small bolts and gears, it’s a constant struggle. If someone needs a part, we find it. That's the day-to-day. We finish up when the light fades and the bazaar starts to quiet down a little, though it never really stops. We're just a family business trying to make a living and pay the bills like anyone else in this market. We have lived in this area for decades, so we know most of the faces passing by.
