Shakti Hosiery Works

Shakti Hosiery Works is located up on the first floor of the Satkar Building in Nehru Place. We are in Shop No. 13, which is part of that big 79/80 block. If you’ve ever been to Nehru Place, you know it is a maze of buildings and shops. It took us a while to get used to the pace here ourselves. We aren't on the ground floor, so it’s a bit quieter than the street level, which we actually prefer. We have our machines and our stock laid out across the room. It’s not a showroom; it’s more of a workspace where things actually get done. We spend most of our hours either at the desks or checking on the inventory. There is usually a radio playing in the background to keep things from being too silent while we work. The stairs up to the first floor can be a bit steep, but we don't mind the climb. We’ve been in this building for quite a bit now. We know the other shopkeepers on our floor, and we usually share a quick word when we’re out getting water or a snack. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People mostly find us because they know where the Satkar Building is or they’ve been told to look for Shop 13. It is just a straightforward business where we focus on our daily tasks.
