Amba Plastics

Amba Plastics is located at No. 54-A/3 in the Dilshad Garden Industrial Area. We are right behind the telephone exchange—the address says it twice because that is really the best way to find us. It’s a bit hidden away off the main G.T. Road. Being in an industrial area means there is always a lot of activity. We work with plastics all day. The smell of melting plastic is something you just get used to after a while. Our machines are pretty old but they still get the job done. We spend a lot of time monitoring the molds and making sure the shapes come out right. It’s repetitive work, but it needs to be done correctly. The floor is often covered in little scraps of plastic. We sweep up every evening, but it’s back the next morning. It’s just me and the workers trying to stay on top of the orders. We don't have a fancy office or a secretary. If the phone rings, whoever is closest to it picks it up. Sometimes we have to shout over the noise of the grinders. We have been behind the telephone exchange for many years now. It’s a good spot for us because the transport links to G.T. Road are right there. It’s hard work and the hours are long, but we’ve built a steady life here. We just keep our heads down and work. There’s always another batch of plastic waiting to be processed.
