Shah Pur Jaat is a total maze if you are not used to it. If you have never been to C-118 before, you might get lost in the narrow lanes and tight corners. It is a very busy fashion hub and we are right in the middle of all that energy. The building is quite old and the stairs are a bit steep when you are carrying heavy rolls. Inside, we have used every single corner to store fabric and finished garments. There is almost always someone humming a tune while they work at their station. We do not have space for a fancy office, so we just use the ends of the cutting tables to do our paperwork and take calls. It is a bit chaotic, but it is a good kind of busy that keeps us moving. People are always popping in and out to check on things. The sound of the neighborhood is mostly scooters and people talking loudly outside. We deal with a lot of different styles every single week. Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in lace and cotton samples. We make sure to take a proper break when the sun is at its highest point. There is a small shop nearby that makes really good snacks for the afternoon. We have been here for a long time and know most of the people on the street. It is a real community. We just want to finish the day right.
