Seiko Steering is over at Plot No 1/3 in the Kirti Nagar Industrial Area. It’s a busy spot, right in the thick of things. We focus on steering parts, mostly because that’s what we’ve always done. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at. We have a lot of metal scraps around and the floor has seen better days, but the machines work fine. Dealing with steering components means things have to be handled carefully, so we spend a lot of time double-checking the measurements. It’s oily work, so our clothes usually end up pretty stained by the end of the shift. We’ve had some of the same guys working here for years. They know the sounds the machines make when something isn't right. Kirti Nagar can be a bit of a headache with the traffic, especially when we’re trying to get a delivery out the door. We don't have a big sign or anything. Most people find us because they’ve been coming here for a long time or someone told them where we are. We just keep our heads down and work through the orders. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just life in an industrial area. It’s a basic operation. We make the parts, pack them up, and move on to the next one. It’s steady work and it keeps the lights on for us all. It is what it is and we just keep moving forward with it.
