You’ll find SANDHU Mechanical Works over at 6/2/1 in the Kirti Nagar Industrial Area. This whole neighborhood is full of shops like ours, so there’s always the sound of welding and grinding in the air from morning until night. We’ve been in this spot for many years now. The building is made of bricks and has high ceilings to keep it from getting too hot, though it still gets pretty warm in the middle of May. We have a lot of heavy machinery on the floor, and it’s always got a bit of grease on it. That’s just the nature of mechanical work. Our workers are mostly local guys who have been doing this since they were young. We don't have a human resources department or any of that corporate stuff. If there's a problem, you just talk to the foreman on the floor. It’s a simple setup. We spend our days making parts and fixing things that break. Sometimes a machine goes down and we have to spend half the night getting it back up, but that’s part of the job. We don’t have fancy brochures or a glossy website. People come to us because they know we’ve been in Kirti Nagar forever and we know what we’re doing. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned way to run a business, but it’s served us well so far. We just keep our heads down and get the work done.
