San Computech is over in the Shakuntala Building at Nehru Place. We’re in room 207. If you’ve ever been to Nehru Place, you know it’s the heart of the computer market in Delhi. It’s noisy, crowded, and there’s always someone hauling boxes of electronics around. Our office is right in the middle of all that. We have a few rows of desks with computers and some spare parts lying around. It feels a bit like a workshop sometimes. We don't have a receptionist; usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up when someone walks in. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting or dealing with software issues for our clients. The building itself is quite busy, so there’s a constant flow of people in the corridors. We’ve got a small window, but the view is mostly of the signboards of other tech shops. It’s not the quietest place to work, but it’s where all the action is. We usually have a lot of cables and monitors sitting on every available surface. We don't bother with fancy decor because it would just get covered in dust anyway. We just focus on getting the tech work finished so we can move on to the next task. It’s a basic, hard-working environment and we're used to the pace. The lift in Shakuntala Building can be a bit temperamental, so we often end up taking the stairs. It keeps the day interesting and the coffee tastes better after the climb up each morning when we start.
