Samitech Opto Devices

Working in Nehru Place is an experience, to say the least. It’s the kind of place where you have to dodge people every few steps on the pavement. Our office, Samitech Opto Devices, is up on the second floor of the Deepak Building at number 13. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more often than we’d like. Inside, the space is filled with opto devices and various electronic parts. These things are tiny, so you really have to pay attention to what you’re doing. The room is usually quiet except for the hum of a few machines and the noise from the street coming through the old windows. We’ve been here for a bit, and we’ve seen plenty of shops come and go in this building. It’s a tight space, and sometimes it feels like the boxes are closing in on us, but it works for what we do. We usually spend the morning checking shipments and making sure the devices are sorted correctly. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall because nobody wants to spend too much time away from the bench. It’s not the most glamorous job, sitting under tube lights all day and working with small components, but it’s what we know. The Deepak Building has its quirks, like the peeling paint in the hallway, but it is home to our little operation. We just get on with it every day.
