S. G. Felt Co.

Our place, S. G. Felt Co., is tucked away in Said-Ul-Ajaib Village. It’s in Main Gali No. 1, which is quite close to the Saket Metro Station, so getting here isn’t too bad if you’re on the yellow line. We deal with felt. It’s a specific kind of material and not many people know much about it, but we’ve been handling it for a long time. The warehouse at K-96 is filled with rolls of the stuff in different thicknesses and colors. It has a particular smell, like wool and dust. Mostly, we supply to other businesses who use it for industrial stuff or for crafts. It’s a small operation. I’m usually the one answering the phone and checking the inventory. We have a few guys who help with the heavy lifting and the cutting. The village streets are narrow, so getting the bigger delivery trucks in can be a real struggle sometimes. We have to time it just right. It’s a quiet corner of Delhi compared to the main roads. I like the pace here. People stop by to ask for a small piece of felt for a school project, and we usually just give it to them if we have scraps lying around. It’s not about making a huge profit on every single thing; it’s just about running the business day to day. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors don’t even ask what’s in the bags anymore.
