About Roshan Lal Hospital – Medical & Healthcare in New Delhi
We are set up at L-1 in Navin Shahdara, right behind the police station. Having the station there makes it very easy to give people directions when they are trying to find us for the first time. The hospital is a simple building that’s been part of this neighborhood for a long time. The paint on the outside is a bit weathered from the sun, but inside we keep everything as tidy as we possibly can. We have some patient rooms and a small area for checkups and basic treatments. It’s a general hospital, so we handle a bit of everything that comes our way. The hallway is a bit thin, so people have to be careful when moving around each other. I usually stay at the front desk to help with the paperwork, which we still do mostly by hand in big ledgers. There are some benches in the waiting area that can get quite full on Monday mornings when everyone seems to get sick at once. We don't have any high-tech glass walls or modern art; it’s just a plain, functional building. Most of our patients are families from the Shahdara area who have been coming to us for generations. The fan in the waiting room has a bit of a hum to it, but it keeps the air moving on hot afternoons. There’s a small shop nearby where we get our tea, and sometimes the smell of street food wafts in. It’s a humble place.
