Most people around here just say the full name, Ram Manohar Lohiya, or just shorten it to RML. It is a massive place, really. You can get lost in the corridors if you do not pay attention to the signs on the walls. I remember when I first started at Ram Manohar Lohiya, I had to ask for directions three times just to find the right desk. It is a busy environment with a lot of history behind it. The walls are thick and the ceilings are high. It feels like a place that has seen a lot over the years. We do not really do the whole modern aesthetic thing; it is more about function here. You see people from all walks of life coming through the gates every day. There is a constant hum of activity, from the wheels of stretchers to the sound of people talking in the waiting areas. It never really gets quiet, even in the middle of the night. We just keep the lights on and keep working. The staff is quite a mix of people who have been here forever and new kids just starting out. It is just a big, old hospital doing what it is supposed to do. You do not come here for the decor, you come because it is where the doctors are. That is just how it is at Ram Manohar Lohiya. We are just here doing our bit every single day.
