Riki Auto Lamps

Riki Auto Lamps is located at 908-A, Tilak St., which is right in the middle of the Kashmere Gate chaos. If you have ever been down this way, you know how crowded it gets with all the shops and people moving auto parts around. Our place is tucked into the street, and it’s always a bit of a squeeze to get through the entrance with boxes piled up. It is not a shiny showroom. It is more of a working shop where things are packed and unpacked all day long. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that. We have been at this Tilak St. address for a long time, and we know all the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a tight-knit community, even if it looks messy to an outsider. Inside, it smells like cardboard and old metal, which is just the way an auto lamp shop should smell. We don’t have fancy desks; mostly we just use the counters and whatever flat surface we can find. The noise from the main road never really stops, so we just talk a bit louder. It is a very basic setup. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations because we’d rather just get the work done and get the lamps out to where they need to go. It’s a bit cramped, but we make it work every single day.
