Ratnakar Sarees

Ratnakar Sarees is our little shop located in West Shalimar Bagh. We are at B. K- 15, which isn't too hard to find if you know the area well. We have been selling sarees here for a good while and it has become a bit of a daily routine for us. The shop isn't huge but we pack in as many designs as we can on the shelves. It can get a bit crowded on the weekends when people are out shopping for weddings or festivals, but we like the energy. We don't have a marketing team or anyone telling us how to talk to customers. We just show the fabric, talk about the colors, and help people find what they like. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea, and other days we are on our feet until the sun goes down. We have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but we have stayed in this same spot. Dealing with suppliers can be a headache sometimes, especially when the colors aren't exactly what we asked for, but we make it work. We try to keep the prices fair because we live here too and know everyone wants a good deal. It is a simple business, really. We just want people to leave with a saree they feel good wearing. If you’re ever walking through Shalimar Bagh, you’ll see our sign. It’s nothing fancy, just our name and the sarees inside.
