Rajdhani Lace Centre

Rajdhani Lace Centre is on the 1st floor of Harsha House, right across from Milan Cinema in Karam Pura. Being near the cinema means there’s always a lot of activity around the building. We are up one flight of stairs. Once you walk in, you’ll see shelves and shelves of lace in every color you can imagine. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze because we try to keep so much in stock. We spend a lot of time unrolling lace to show customers and then rolling it back up again. It’s tedious work, but someone has to do it. The floor is usually covered in little snips of thread and bits of ribbon. We don’t have a fancy showroom; it’s more of a warehouse where people can come and browse. The light from the windows isn't great, so we have a lot of tube lights to help us see the fine patterns. We usually have a lot of walk-ins, people looking for something specific for a dress or a project. It gets loud when the movie crowds are outside, but we’re used to it by now. The staff here knows exactly where every roll of lace is hidden. We aren't trying to be a big fashion house, just a place where you can find the trimmings you need. It’s a simple, honest business. We’ve been in Karam Pura for a long time.
