R. K. Clearing Pvt. Ltd.

We’re over at 234, on the second floor of the Tribhuvan Complex. It’s right there at the 10th Mile Stone on Mathura Road. R. K. Clearing Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of this spot for quite some time. Being on Mathura Road means there’s constant traffic and the sound of horns, but we’re used to it by now. Our job is clearing, which means a lot of time spent with customs documents and government forms. It isn't the most exciting work, but it’s important for businesses that need their stuff moved. The office is functional. We’ve got rows of filing cabinets because there’s always more paper. We don't have a receptionist in a uniform. Usually, you just walk in and one of us will look up from a desk. We spend a lot of time checking codes and verifying weights. It’s detail-oriented work. Sometimes the rules change and we have to figure out the new way of doing things. We don't put on airs. We’re just regular people trying to do a decent job. If you come by, the tea is usually hot and the fan is usually humming. We stay busy until the sun goes down, then we lock up and do it again tomorrow. It’s just how we run things here on the second floor. Mathura Road is always moving, and so are we.
