Our office is down on the ground floor of the DLF Tower in Okhla Phase 1. Being at Office No. 8 makes it easy to just walk in from the street without messing with elevators. We are Portrucks Equipments, and we’ve been in this part of Delhi for quite some time. Okhla is a real industrial hub, so it feels right for a company that deals with trucks and heavy equipment. It’s dusty and loud outside most of the time, with trucks moving in and out of the various warehouses around us. Our office is fairly simple, just a place to talk to customers and keep our records straight. We don’t have any fancy showrooms here; it’s more of a practical base for our operations. Most days we are busy coordinating deliveries or talking to mechanics. It’s hard work, and the summer heat in Okhla can be really something else. We usually have the tea guy come around twice a day, which is something everyone looks forward to. We aren't looking to be the biggest name out there, just to do a decent job for the people who buy our equipment. It’s a straightforward business and we like being in the middle of all the industrial action. It feels like real work is happening here, and that’s good enough for us. Sometimes it gets a bit messy with all the paperwork, but we manage to keep everything in its right place.
