Plasto India

If you’ve ever walked through Karol Bagh, you know how hectic it gets. Our place, Plasto India, is right on the ground floor at 18/14, Pusa Lane. Being on the ground floor is lucky because we don’t have to lug heavy items up any stairs. The lane itself is narrow, and there’s always a bit of a struggle when a delivery truck tries to squeeze through. Inside, the space is pretty much filled with plastic goods of all shapes and sizes. We don't have fancy displays or bright spotlights; we just stack things where they fit. The walls have some old posters and calendars that have been there for ages. It gets quite warm in the summer, so the cooler stays on all day, humming in the background. Most of our day is spent talking to people who wander in from the market or coordinating with the warehouse. Pusa Lane is a mix of old buildings and new shops, and we’ve been in this spot long enough to know all the neighbors. Sometimes the rain floods the street a little, and we have to be quick to keep things dry. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. We don’t spend much time sitting at computers. Most of our time is spent moving boxes, checking the items, and making sure the orders are ready to go out. It’s a busy, cramped, and honest way to spend the day.
