Raasleela Creations

Raasleela Creations is tucked away at B-375 in Lok Vihar, over in Pritam Pura. It’s more of a workspace than a fancy showroom. We have a few rooms filled with tables where we lay out the materials. The light comes in pretty well through the side windows in the morning. We usually start working around nine. There’s always the sound of scissors cutting through fabric or the hum of the machines in the back. It’s a residential area mostly, so it’s quieter than the main markets, which is nice for getting work done. We have shelves full of thread in every color you can think of. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack boxes in the hallway. The staff here has been together for a while, so we all know who is supposed to do what without talking much. We drink a lot of water because it gets stuffy in the summer. We don't really go for big advertisements or anything like that. Most people who come here heard about us from someone else in the neighborhood. We just try to finish the pieces we are working on and make sure the details are okay. Some days are slower than others, and we spend that time cleaning up the scraps of cloth from the floor. It’s a practical place. We focus on the cutting and the stitching, and that’s about it.
